About the Challenge
Ever wanted to bring code to life? ✨
Inspired by the myth of Pygmalion, we're challenging you to create the next generation of AI avatars. Project Pygmalion is a 36-hour hackathon in the heart of Chicago where the city's brightest student builders will gather to design, develop, and ship something truly incredible. This is your chance to push the boundaries of realism, memory, and human-computer interaction.
Getting Started

Who? This is for students who are passionate about building. If you love to create and ship cool AI projects, this is your playground.

When? Friday, September 27th, 4:30 PM – Saturday, September 28th, 6:30 PM CDT.

Where? The awesome Drive Capital HQ in Chicago (215 N Peoria St).

Teams: Come with your own crew of 2-4, or fly solo! We'll have a fun team formation session to make sure everyone finds a squad. 🤝

What to Bring: Just your laptop, chargers, and any other hardware you need. We'll provide the monitors, Wi-Fi, and non-stop food, drinks, and inspiration!
Requirements
What to Build
Your challenge is to build a project that fits into one of our four tracks:

The Realistic Avatar: Create the most photorealistic and lifelike AI avatar with natural expressions and movements.

The Best Memory: Build an avatar with sophisticated memory and contextual awareness that learns from conversations.

The Non-Technical Track: For the best overall concept, UX design, character backstory, and pitch. No coding required!

The Mystery Track: A secret challenge revealed at the opening ceremony. Expect a fun twist!
What to Submit
By the deadline, your team will need to submit the following:

A link to your public code repository (e.g., GitHub).

A short (2-3 minute) video demo of your project in action.

A brief presentation (5 slides max) explaining your idea, your tech stack, and what you built.
